Everything you need to know before your Rocky Mountain adventure.

The drive from Calgary to Banff is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes (130 km / 80 miles) along the Trans-Canada Highway. Most Banff tours from Calgary leave early in the morning to maximize time at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake while avoiding mid-day traffic. From Canmore, the drive to Banff Town is just 25 minutes.
A Banff day tour from Calgary costs from CAD $89 for a half-day shuttle to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, or from CAD $105 for a full-day tour including additional destinations like Johnston Canyon, Banff Town, or the Icefields Parkway. All tour prices include Banff National Park entrance fees, travel insurance, and bottled water. Private tours are custom-quoted; group bookings of 6+ qualify for additional discounts. Our Banff tours from Calgary include round-trip transportation in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, a professional local guide, all Banff National Park entrance fees ($12.25 per adult value), travel insurance for every guest, bottled water and snacks on board, and free 24-hour cancellation. Lunch is not included on full-day tours, but we stop at a restaurant where you can purchase your own meal.
Our Banff tours pick up from three designated central locations rather than individual hotels: Delta Hotel Downtown Calgary (at the bus stop directly across the street), Canmore Visitor Centre (with free parking), and Banff Caribou Lodge. If your accommodation is not near one of these locations, we can sometimes arrange a custom pickup for an additional fee — message us via WhatsApp before booking.
Moraine Lake is accessible from late May to mid-October, depending on snow conditions. Outside this season, the access road closes due to avalanche risk and Moraine Lake itself freezes over. During the closed months (mid-October to May), our winter Banff tours visit Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon (with optional ice walk), Marble Canyon, and other year-round destinations instead.
Half-day Banff tours run 5.5 hours and depart from Canmore and Banff only (no Calgary pickup), focusing on Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Full-day Banff tours from Calgary run 10–12 hours and depart from Calgary, Canmore, or Banff, with time to explore additional destinations like Johnston Canyon, Banff Town, or the Icefields Parkway. Full-day tours include a lunch stop where you can purchase your own meal; half-day tours end by 1–2 PM.
Banff Journey offers a 24-hour free cancellation policy: cancel any tour up to 24 hours before departure for a full refund — no questions asked. Banff Journey tours are suitable for seniors, families with children, and most travellers with average mobility. Our tour stops are accessible by short, mostly flat walks (under 10–15 minutes), with the exception of the Johnston Canyon Lower Falls hike which involves uneven terrain and a gentle uphill grade. We offer dedicated senior-friendly private tours with relaxed pacing and shorter walking distances on request. Children of all ages are welcome — please mention car seat or booster needs when booking.
